Matuyai is the artistic identity of Shannon Ciara Long, a multidisciplinary contemporary artist working across visual art, photography, writing, music, and experimental creative practices.

The work explores color, line, texture, abstraction, transformation, spirituality, perception, and the relationship between recognizable forms and imagined worlds.

Through drawing, painting, photography, digital experimentation, and other media, Matuyai creates visual environments intended to pull the viewer beyond immediate recognition and into a world of their own.
